Graduation!!

Hey Guys!!

How was your week? Hope it was good! I graduated on Friday, it's been a crazy 4 years I can't believe it's all over!
Graduation is such a big day, but if I'm honest, I wasn't really looking that forward to it. I mean we had had our fun at Grad Ball, so I kind of saw this as more of a parent event I guess. My family had been looking forward to it for some time, my dad had even bought a new suit and shoes!! I was more worried that I was going to fall flat on my face trying to walk across the stage than anything else! My graduation was at The Usher Hall, which is a really big music venue in the centre of Edinburgh, so I knew there would be a lot of eyes on me, which made me all the more terrified I was going to fall, I mean I know walking is a very basic skill that you learn at a really young age, but I'm clumsy at the best of times!!

My ceremony was in the afternoon, which I was quite glad about, it meant I could get a wee lie in, and not have to worry too much about being late etc (not a morning person, so getting up is often a challenge). I went with just my mum & dad, but luckily Paige graduated on the same day as me so I got to see her graduate too, which was great. The ceremony started at 3, so we got there for around 1 so I could get my robe and my professional photos taken before the ceremony. The rob was really heavy, my mum had to safety pin me to it!

The ceremony was about an hour an a half long, with speeches from loads of different members of the university, we then were moved row by row (my degree was first so I was in the front row) to the stage to get our degrees, there were over 400 of us and the handing out of the degrees only took an hour, which was so quick, but my hands did start to hurt from clapping so much!

The ceremony was over way quicker than I expected, I don't know whether or not it was because I was up quite close to the front, but it was no where near as long as I thought it would be!

After the ceremony the university put on a drinks reception at the Craiglockhart campus, as it was raining we only stayed for a half hour or so, I think if it had been warmer it would have been way nicer, and we would have stayed a lot longer.

We had organised a big family get together after graduation at Cafe Andaluz on George Street. I was really looking forward to it because there were going to be family friends there that I hadn't seen in a while. It ended up being such a fun night, with lots of bubbly and wine consumed not to mention some really lovely food, my Nana even made me a cake!!

The whole lot of us!
It was a really really fun night, and although I wasn't really looking that forward to it, graduation was pretty fun too! I'm actually kind of sad it's all over now, I mean I actually have to find a job and stuff now, that's scary!!
It's been a really long 4 years, but it's been so worth it, I now have a degree!! I am so proud of myself, and can't wait for the next adventure!!

Have any of you guys graduated recently? Let me know!
