Birthday Fun!

Hey Guys!

This past Monday I turned 22 (woohoo for me) and thought I'd share with you what we got up to to celebrate it. I like to have a birthday weekend, really make the most of it, so that's what I did, and I had a great couple of days!!
Firstly on Saturday, I went to Spirit Hair and Beauty, round the corner from my house to get my nails all done nice and pretty.
They are so pretty!!!

I have recently been getting gel nails as I have got lazy, and it is quite nice to just get pampered, and this time I got this amazing rose gold glitter.

Saturday night, I organised dinner with 3 of my closest friends Paige, Laura and Dominique. We went to Gusto on George Street (in Edinburgh, although it is a chain). It is a Italian type restaurant and is so lovely! We all had so much to eat it was just lovely! We all shared some garlic pizza bread to start, then I had a pasta dish which had chicken and lots of lovely veg in it; Paige had a pasta which had duck and pistachio's in it; Laura had mushroom risotto; and Dominique had a pizza with chicken and pepperoni on it. Apart from Laura we all had dessert to, Paige had a nutella and mascarpone calzone; I had a chocolate mousse and Dominique had what the menu calls 'Bombolini' they are pretty much mini doughnuts. All the food was so lovely, Gusto also has a really lovely atmosphere, I highly recommend!

We then moved on to Panda & Sons (which I blogged about last week) for cocktails! It was again lovely! We only had one drink, but it was a really nice and chilled evening! Laura and I had the same as always (French Martini and a Cosmo), Paige had a Mojito and I have no idea what Paige had, but it came in a tin!!
My Cosmo
Dominique's fun drink!

Again, it was pretty busy, but we got a table and it was just really relaxed. I had a lovely evening!!

Sunday was my family day, we had a relaxed day as my dad was working away in Manchester, but he got home mid afternoon which meant we could go out for a nice dinner. We decided to go to Jamie's Italian, which you can probably guess is an Italian chain run by chef Jamie Oliver.
Jamie's in Edinburgh

The food was amazing, I had been before so knew it was good, but my family hadn't so didn't know what to expect, but I think they really enjoyed it.
My brother and I shared a starter which was a selection of cold meats and cheeses and bread, it was so good. My parents had a crab and avocado bruschetta. I then had a mushroom and mozzarella risotto, my brother had this huge burger with garlic chips, my dad had lasagna and my mum had a lovely chargrilled roast chicken. We were all hugely stuffed but it was so relaxed. I also had 2 peach bellini's yummy!!

Monday - My actual birthday!!
For my actual birthday I had been very cheeky and taken a holiday from work, which meant I had the whole day to do whatever I wanted, and more importantly have a lie in (which as a very very bad morning person I was hugely happy about).
Me and Paige had planned to have 'brunch' which actually turned in to lunch very quickly, which was better as it meant we could go to The Chocolate Lounge in Harvey Nichols.
We went last year for my birthday, and it was so good I had to go back. I also had a huge craving for fondue on Monday, so had to have it. We had coffee and I had fondue and Paige had pancakes and it was so lovely. We then headed to the shops for a look around and I picked a top for the evening.
We then came back to my house, and we watched a few episodes of Gossip Girl and opened presents, before I started getting ready to go out. Paige wasn't coming but she stayed with me for a while while I got ready.

As my birthday is also St Patrick's day I felt I had to make the most of the Irish bars in Edinburgh, we ended up at The Three Sisters in the Cowgate.
The bar is huge, it has a really big courtyard, inside is also really big. It was absolutely packed, the courtyard had extra bars, and it was a great atmosphere. There was a DJ and later in the night two members of Boyzone turned up to DJ for a bit. There weren't many of us out, but we did have fun, my friends even got me a birthday shout out from the DJ.

All in all I had a really lovely birthday weekend! How do you guys like to celebrate birthdays? Let me know.
